Taking a quick breather to catch their breath, it isn’t long before they are on the run once more… Burdened by the prisoners they have rescued, they do not have the strength or capability to fight. The party race through the Koranthos back towards Aeon-Dul seeking refuge with the King of the Shae-Du Mūn and the last of his people…
A Note about Pursuit Scenes…I used this opertunity to test out a more streamlined version of the Pursuit rule sand have made adjustments to go into the all-new Pegasus Engine version. The players enjoyed the new rules which were clearer than the previous CORE version.
They manage to escape their pursuers and soon find themselves hiding on the outskirts of the ruined city of Aeon-Dul. The city was crawling with Saurataurs, so the group decided to stay low and move as quietly as possible, trying not to attract attention.
Obrios led the way through the ruins doubling back a couple of times to avoid large formations of the lizards… Which seemed to be converging in the direction of the Tower of the King. Soon they found themselves across from the main gates, but as they stepped out the Saurataur army had arrived… They raced towards the gates as they were being closed! One by one they charged through the gates until they thudded closed behind them. That is when they noticed Adendoclese had not managed to make it through. Climbing to the battlements, they saw him racing of back into the ruins pursued by a small group of Saurataurs, But amassing outside the tower the Sarataur army had come, more and more joining their force.
Escorted through the Tower to the hall of the king, Tristantos sat in the war council with his advisors. The party joined them and told the council about the Kriotaurs who had joined the Lizards and were marching this way. It was only a matter of time before the Tower fell.
The problem was the way to the Moon Caves has been blocked and that it was not safe to take the king’s people to the caves to escape. Requesting their aide, he asked if they would join him and hold the Sarataurs at bay until an opening presented itself and if they would lead the last of his people to Sanctuary in the West. The group agreed to do this.
The King told them that he would lead his people in one last stand. Taking Syvarius aside, he said that he had heard rumors about his heritage. When Sylvarius confirmed it, The King said his last stand has been made easier knowing that his people would be led by one of the last children of Lysamache, The Shae-Du Darian born of starlight.
The party prepared for war!
