As part of the Pegasus Engine can handle any setting challenge… I was Challenged to run Cthulhu.
So I have put together a short run adventure to take the investigators over a 3-5 session adventure.
Character creation was fun and we now have six investigators to face the unspeakable horrors that lurk on the fringes of their insanity!
The adventure is set in the 1980’s…
The Cast
Alexander Johnson
Enhancer (Actor: Pippin)
A surgeon working long hours for the NHS. His mother was obsessed with psychics passed away not long ago. Amongst her belongings, Alexander found that she often met with a man called Russell Corey. Alexander found peace regarding his mother after meeting with Russell and learning a little more about her interest in clairvoyance.
Dorian Star
Tactician (Actor: Byron)
A Chellosit and a Singer performer in the modern arts and a star among the young generation as a classical-rock musician. He cannot be found without his closest fan, Luna Dawn. Together they found that their common interest in witchcraft and the forbidden knowledge has sown their friendship together.
Freddrick Hayes (Mystic Fred)
Agitator (Actor: Rich)
A charlatan, con-man who operates within a travelling circus pretending to be a clairvoyant. He was approached by Russel Corey after Russel received several complaints about Mystic Fred. But when Russel visited Freddrick had his first experience in a true clairvoyant activity! Since then they have become true friends.
Theodore Smith
Ranged (Actor: Silver)
Theodore has just started his Private Investigator Firm. He got involved with Russel Corey when a client brought Russel to Theodore’s attention. Meeting at a dinner party they shared similar interests and would meet often to discuss such topics.
W
Ranged (Actor: Waracolyte)
A shunned member of royalty who joined the secret service. Now only known as W. He has joined a special operation that seeks and shuts down cultist activities. W latest mark was Russel Corey, whose name came to the department of defences interest after making it big with his clairvoyant activity. Meeting with Russel, W has infiltrated his circle of friends, hoping to learn more about this man.
Warren Pernberton
Scrapper (Actor: Woadan)
An ex-service man. Now works as a taxi driver and has an interest in all things supernatural. One day he was transporting Russel Corey to a big event, they got talking and since then, Russell uses Warrens services as often as possible.
Russell Corey after months of research has finally made a breakthrough in his discoveries. Excited he wanted to share this in a special meeting with his close friends. One by one he contacted the investigators, inviting them to come to a dinner party which he has put together to share with them his discovery, which he claims will blow the minds of the sceptics…
One by one they made their way towards Russel’s apartment in London.
On arrival, the police had cordoned off the block of flats where Corey was staying. A crowd had formed outside and traffic was building.
Trying to get a glimpse of what was going on they pushed their way to the front. At that point, a shrouded corpse was being loaded into the ambulance and a gust of wind blow the sheet from its face to reveal Russel Corey.
Alex pushed past the police identifying himself as a Dr. BEing let through he spoke with the Paramedics who had informed him that a neighbour had heard a disturbance from Corey’s room. The Police were called to find him dead. The scene is bloody and now a murder investigation was underway.
Alex felt shaken by the incident…
Warren Watched and saw an alleyway and a fire escape up the side of the building.. seeing that no one was watching he snuck down and up into Corey’s apartment. Fredrick noticing Warren slip into the wallet decided to follow. But caused a fight to break out and before long a mob brawl kept the police busy giving the investigators the opportunity to slip into the apartment.
W was first up the stairs, behind him came Theodore then Dorian and Luna hot on his tail.
The group met in the apartment, where blood was sprayed up the walls and the furniture in disarray. Mistrust between the party at first as they were all in the room illegally. But while the chaos outside kept the police busy, they started to search the room.
As sirens began to echo outside, as more police arrived, the investigators knew their time investigating was getting close to an end… That is when Theodore found a box of floppy discs.. and started to make their way through the pile until two discs caught their attention. Hamiltons Diray and CODEBRAK.bac held together with an elastic band…
Our 2-hour game session then ended unit next time!
