How To Play CORE RPG (p.7)

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Firstly, the GM must design or prepare a story for the players to embark upon. Once a story is ready, either use the pre-generated characters (supplied for free on the GMD Online website) or the players may choose to design their own, following the Character Creation rules on page 49.

The game begins with the GM describing the Starting Scene of the adventure. This will inform the players what they can see, hear or feel, etc. The players will then react to the GM’s description, either by asking questions or interacting as their characters with the story elements such as terrain, objects or even NPCs. The GM will then determine if there are any Statistic or Specialisation Checks required to determine the success of the players’ actions. A character only rolls if there is a chance of failure that has an impact on the story or the character well being. Games can continue for weeks or months or be over in a single session. It all ends once the story’s objective has been achieved or the heroes have perished. The choice is yours and the story is limited only by your imagination.
