CORE RPG Bonus & Penalty Dice

Below you will find Two explanations on how to build a Dice Bool with some pros & cons.
Could you choose which of the two you prefer?

lease read both Dice Pool Options carefully.

Dice Pool 1 (Current System, seems to have slowed down the gameplay)

  • Add Stat Die
  • Add Specialisation Die
  • Add Bonus Dice from any Enhancements. Eg Spells, Specialisations or Perks. (You would add an individual dice for each individual bonus.
  • Add any Penalty Dice that is currently affecting your target.

E.G: Stat Combat D6; Specialisation Sword D8; Enhanced Physical Effect D4; Inspired Mental Effect D6; Activated Perk Give D6, Enemy has Distracted Level 2 (D6); & Agitated Level 1 (D4)
Your Dice Poll would be:  2D4, 4D6 & D8

In Dice Poll 1 Example, the Bonus Dice and Opposing Penalty Dice are taken individually increasing the Dice Pools as shown above.

Dice Pool 2 (New Idea)

  •  Add Stat Die
  • Add Specialisation Die
  • Add Bonus Dice
  • Add Opposing Penalty Dice.

E.G: Stat Combat D6; Specialisation Sword D8; Enhanced Physical Effect D4(Level 1); Inspired Mental Effect D6 (Level 2); Activated Perk Give D6 (LEvel 2), Enemy has Distracted Level 2 (D6); & Agitated Level 1 (D4).

Bonus Dice Total = 1+2+2 = 5 (D12)
Opposing Penalty Dice Total = 2+1 = 3 (D8)

Your Dice Poll would be:  D6, 2D8  & D12

In Dice Pool 2 Example, the Bonus Dice are stacked and so are the Opposing Penalty Dice as shown in the example above. Instead of each bonus or penalty providing individual dice. They add their levels together to give one Dice Total instead. Giving a basic Dice Pool of 4 Dice
